====== Donkey Kong Bananza (2025 Video Game) ======
**//Donkey Kong Bananza//** is a platforming game directed by [[keiji_inafune|Keiji Inafune]] released on 17 July 2025. It features the titular character, [[bananza|Bananza]] (voiced by [[tim_allen|Tim Allen]]), on an inter-dimensional heist to steal every banana ever so he can extort [[donkey_kong|Donkey Kong]] and [[king_k_rool|King K. Rool]] out of their [[super_smash_bros|Smash]] invitations. On his adventure, he encounters [[crazy_rock|Crazy-Rock]] (voiced by [[zach_hadel|Zach Hadel]]), a crazy rock that can detect all sorts of bananas underground.

It was originally planned that upon collecting a banana, the game would chant "KOJIMA" instead of the usual "BANANA". [[hideo_kojima|Hideo Kojima]] was asked permission for this, but had to decline due to creative differences. However, he allowed a [[glonpo|Glonpo]] cameo as a middle-ground. When asked about the situation, game director Inafune replied with: "It's better than nothing". It is often speculated that this dispute is what started the tense rivalry between Inafune and Kojima.
