Tim Allen is an American actor and game director born in 13 June 1953. His career began when he was selling hot dogs outside of the Obsidian Entertainment office and eventually being offered to do voice acting for a character in Half-Life by its director, who saw great potential in him. This risk payed off almost immediately, as his performance was so critically acclaimed that he became an instant star. All of this success led to him acquiring enough good reputation to be allowed to create the Super Smash Bros. series with executive producer George Clooney.
Allen is very involved in the direction of his acting roles, and even lets aspects of his personal life get included. This is best seen in Santa Clause, which the events of the plot actually happened to him 7 months before the film was conceived.
