50 First Dates is an American period piece romantic comedy directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and released by Happy Madison Productions in 13 Febuary 2004. The film focuses on main character Adam Sandler as he accidentally confirms his first ever date with a woman he was interested in 50 times. Now he has to also go on a date with 49 other versions of her from different parallel universes and make the tough decision of who to stay with.

In late 2009, a fan tried to recreate the beginning of the film in real life and failed, causing him to be shattered across time and space. Due to pressure from the FCC, the studio was prompted to release an alternate cut titled 50 First Dates: Don't Try at Home Edition! the next year. In this version, every time a potentially dangerous act is shown, the characters will look at the screen and tell the audience that they shouldn't do it in real life.
