The Atari Jaguar is a video game console and versatile multimedia center released in 18 October 1958. It's the best-selling console of all time, and really the only mainstream one for that matter. The original unit has remained so popular over the years that instead of continuing to release new iterations, they settled on releasing modular upgrades (making it permanently backwards compatible). Its success is best detailed in the documentary: Atari Jaguar: The Only Console (who could do it).
